Everything began in 2012, on a quiet, sun-drenched farm in rural Australia. While volunteering as a WWOOFer, our founder, Jelimy, noticed a weathered canvas bag used by a local farmer. It was scarred with marks and lines from years of heavy labor—yet it wasn't "old"; it was soulful. Every stitch told a story of resilience.

Inspired by this rugged beauty and the Latin concept of 'Otium'—the art of living simply with purposeful things—Gootium was born. We didn’t want to create just another accessory; we set out to craft a companion that grows better with every mile you travel.
